MeeThePro 2023

MeeThePro is a space for meetings between artistic directors, programmers, managers and artists. With a format which is dynamic, close, and enjoyable, consist of short presentations by artistic directors of international festivals and clubs aimed at a small audience.

After the presentations, a relaxed space will be created off stage so that the attending managers, musicians or promoters can approach the artistic director most suited to their project and have the opportunity to build relationships and alliances.

This year, MeeThePro will be divided into two sessions: one focused on the international scene and the other on the Dutch scene.

It will take place on March 17 from 14:30 to 16:30.

Only FULL PASS attendees will have free access to this activity.

Jazzfestival Saalfelden (Austria)

Since 2015, Daniela Neumayer is the production manager of the Jazzfestival Saalfelden, the biggest jazz festival in Austria with more than 60 concerts in 4 days. She is also the cultural manager of the tourism region Saalfelden Leogang and responsible for networking and marketing of cultural initiatives such as art houses, museums, theater clubs, etc. In addition, she curates a cultural project called ALM:KULTUR, a series of events in the summer where traditionally music meets contemporary.

Saul Beretta is the creative director of Musicamorfosi, an independent cultural and musical association. He is also a musical innovator, songwriter and music composer, artistic producer, radio host, promoter and champion of unconventional musical initiatives. His creative music projects have been commissioned or hosted by Italy’s most revered theatres. As a musical consultant, he has worked for countless TV and radio programs. He has also worked with the Milan Società del Quartetto, the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra, Milano Musica festival and Teatro Alla Scala. He has been the artistic director of numerous festivals, and the music consultant and programmer for jazz and world music for LAC of Lugano since 2017.

Margarita Borisova is a freelance music journalist based in Sofia, a coordinator in many musical projects, a long-term PR of Jazz Plus Concerts and an owner and music consultant in the oldest music shop in Sofia, Dukyan Meloman.

From 2005-2012 she was a PR of the Jazz Plus Festival and Jazz Plus Events and a coordinator of many musical projects. She coordinated the Olé Festival in collaboration with Institute Cervantes, 2016-2018.

Jazz à Juan Festival (France)

Maryline Bailly has been working for more than 20 years for the festival Jazz à Juan in Antibes Juan-les-Pins, French Côte d’Azur. Jazz à Juan team has created, in 2017, the first French Market for Jazz professionals in the aim to promote European bands. 24 concerts and showcases are organized during 3 days.

In Summer, the Jammin’Summer sessions, which is the Fringe Festival of Jazz à Juan, presents some of these bands.

Bailly is the project manager for these two events.

Piotr Turkiewicz is the Artistic Director of the Jazztopad Festival in Wroclaw, Poland, one of the most important jazz and improvised music festivals in the world. Since 2018 Piotr has been Curator of Improvised Music & Jazz at Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin. Additionally, Piotr has been responsible for the programming jazz, world music, dance, special projects at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Poland.

From 2012 until January 2020, he was on the Board of Directors of ISPA (International Society for the Performing Arts) and served as a co-chair of the Programme Committee and a Chair of Pitch New Works of that organization. Between 2014-2018, he was the Vice-President of the Europe Jazz Network.

Since over 25 years, Marieke has been exploring and walking the field of music, in many different roles, from booking agent, festival producer/artistic director to advisor for the Performing Arts Fund NL, teacher and lyricist. Since 10 years she also has been working as a coach at ArtEZ Music Conservatory, where she does masterclasses, individual & group sessions on spoken word, storytelling and lyric writing. This expanded into extended guiding talks with young bands/musicians internationally through Arts & Parts and studies in the psychological environment. She focuses on Voice Dialogue, a method for giving voice to our various selves, about developing the ability to handle, or manage, our selves in a more conscious manner which is particularly suitable for artists finding their authentic way to and onstage.
